THREE VOLUMES (2024)

3 x 2m x 2m, 3,993 points of light, electronics, software

A triptych of contrasting volumes of light and sound, frozen in time and space.

This new work is dedicated to the exploration of vivid contrast and texture. Three Volumes experiments with consistent physical formatting amid variations in digital light and texture. In turn, the slight differences between these near identical physical objects reveals the distinct quality of the digital discrepancies, highlighting the medium with which they were made.

The proximity of the Three Volumes both accentuates their differences and occasionally synthesises them in harmony.

Alongside contrast and texture, the work plays with relationality by exploring how we perceive stimuli differently depending on the rest of our surroundings.

In signature Squidsoup style, visitors are free to choose their vantage point and define their own narrative journey through the work.
